Special Guest Panel

This year’s Kennedy Oaks Club Luncheon will feature two fierce women who we are proud to count as VRC Ambassadors – Emma Booth and Amanda Ross. Emma and Amanda have represented Australia in one of the world’s most demanding sports, where all genders compete as equals in partnership with the incredibly talented equine athletes, we all admire.

Emma Booth

Emma Booth

Emma’s passion for equestrian sport has driven her from an early age, however her international ambitions were put on hold in 2013 when she was involved in a near-fatal car accident causing paraplegia. Seven months later, Emma found the strength to return to riding. Learning of her options as a Para-equestrian, she set her sights on selection for the Australian Paralympic Team. Achieving this goal, she competed in two events at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio, finishing a respectable fifth in the Individual Championship Test Grade III with her heart horse, Mogelvangs Zidane. She consolidated this performance when representing Australia at the World Equestrian Games in 2018, where the combination fell just short of a bronze medal, finishing fourth overall. They once again hit the world stage at the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo, finishing fifth in the Individual Championship Test Grade III. She most recently finished sixth at the World Championships held in Denmark with a new partner Furst Deluxe, after only having been a combination for a short couple of months. Emma was appointed as a VRC Ambassador during Cup Week 2020, and now has her sights firmly set on bringing home a medal at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.

Amanda Ross

Amanda Ross

Amanda is one of the best-known riders in Victoria with a passion for the thoroughbred. Her equestrian career has taken her around the world and she has been ranked in the top 50 riders the world in eventing, an Olympic sport comprising of dressage, cross-country and show-jumping.

Amanda rode Off The Track thoroughbred Otto Schumaker to represent Australian at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. 20 years later and having overcome a battle with breast cancer, she was on the short list to represent Australia at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics with her Off The Track thoroughbred Koko Popping Candy who sadly sustained an injury, ending their campaign. She has recently partnered with a new thoroughbred, Romeo, who is showing a flair for showjumping. Amanda was also appointed as a VRC Ambassador during Cup Week 2020.
