Kick off 2023 in style.
Welcome in the New Year with a brilliant eight-race card headlined by the Listed Bagot Handicap (2800m) and the Listed Chester Manifold Stakes (1400m).
The time-honoured Bagot Handicap attracts the country’s best off-season stayers ahead of bigger autumn targets. Last year’s edition was taken out by Tigertiger, ridden by Daniel Moor for Rob Blacker’s stable. The Chester Manifold Stakes is named in honour of former VRC Chairman Sir Chester Manifold and is run over 1400m. The Clinton McDonald-trained Never Again saluted last year ridden by Michael Walker.
Members can experience delicious food and drinks and panoramic views of the racing from the many bars and restaurants – plus, with extended hours and a DJ after the last, the festivities continue in The Roof Garden.
Racegoers can get set for some serious summer vibes and enjoy the relaxed atmosphere with friends on the Flemington Front Lawn. Hang out on some relaxed summer furniture and enjoy a great day’s racing, delicious takeaway bites and refreshing beverages – including the Pimm’s pop-up bar. Saintly Place Sports Bar will be buzzing with live sports and $5 food specials. Join in on the fun and excitement of the Punter’s Club taking place just outside on the Front Lawn.
Looking for somewhere to bring the kids? Enjoy maximum summer fun on the Flemington Front Lawn where children can enjoy loads of activities including lawn games and face painting.
